  • class craziness

it's been a couple of weeks since the last post (it's already mid september, how silly). i started classes on the 10th and it's not been an easy ride, ohhh no. so in my class there is one american, one indonesian, a few japanese and a squillion koreans. plus i of britain. this internationalness means the whole class has to be in chinese, which makes for a lot of confusion but then we learn so much more. i'll be posting some campus pics in the next few days, when i have time not learning chinese sentence structures.

  • home schweet home

this be my new home for the next six months/ year (i don't know how long i'll stay here). i opted to have a homestay, which means that i bypassed all that kerfuffle in finding a flat and furnishing it myself, when i could easily just move into a furnished flat for a) cheaper the price b) less stress mess.

bloody camera doesn't want to shit out the photos i've taken, so bear with me, people

  • beijingland

sigh, beijing is a city full of many many people, too many people in fact. everyone you speak to says that there are, which logically could mean that they all wish to annihilate each other.
having been on the roads, i don't deny it. constant beeping and craziness, te chinese handle roads like they do queues (they don't), so as a driver in beijing you'll be a hundred times more alert than in england for swarms of bikes/people in the middle of the street/other cars/street vendors selling either melons, bottles of water or socks/blaring articulated lorries wanting to commit suicide and cut in front of you.
    beijing traffic

it's not so great for pedestrians either, as the air makes the city even more smelly than it could possibly be. i've got a sore throat venturing outside, so i may invest in a fetching surgical face mask, at least to make me look scarier.

  • here we go

hello everyone, i've finally managed to start this new blog, since the other one isn't approved by the chinese overlords. actually, i should start being careful since there have been bloggers critical of the government who have been imprisoned. so, i would like to say i loooooooooooove the chinese government, like, THIS BIG. that is all.
